Fiber Carrier Lightower Expands Network and Data Center in Providence
Metro fiber and bandwidth provider Lightower Fiber Networks announced on Monday it has expanded its network and its existing colocation facility, both in Providence, Rhode Island.
Partnering with a fiber network supplier like Lightower can help web hosting companies expand their network reach and increase the speed and performance of their hosting services.
The move comes Lightower made several major expansions to its all fiber network in Central and Northern New Jersey, adding 100 route miles of new fiber network throughout the counties.
The network expansion increases Lightower’s footprint in and around East Providence with 21 miles of new fiber. Additionally, Lightower has doubled the size of its colocation data center 235 Promenade (The Foundry), also in Providence.
This latest network expansion extends the company’s reach and access throughout East Providence, Seekonk, and Pawtucket. The build also enables Lightower to provide an additional diverse route between Providence and all areas north and east of Providence, including Boston and Waltham, Massachusetts.
